The Coopers Arms combines a traditional English Free house with a high quality dining and functions venue.

The Coopers Arms combines a traditional English Free house with a high quality dining and functions venue. It is renowned for its distinctive historic building set in a spectacular lakeside location at the heart of the village of Weston-on-Trent, Derbyshire. The hallmark of the business is its emphasis on quality, which is obvious throughout in terms of the standard of its extensive facilities, its fayre and service.

Weston Hall was built in 1628, was restored in 1991 by Tom Cooper who inherited the building from his father. The restoration allowed for two large, warm, interconnecting, underground bar areas where two original inglenook fireplaces have been lovingly refurbished to their original state with ovens still in place. During the winter you can warm up and relax next to one of the open lit fires with our own Coopers Ale brewed exclusive to us by Leatherbritches Brewery. A range of a further 3 cask ales are on offer as well as an impressive range of over 50 single malt Whiskies. Furthermore, an original 17th century deep well has been restored and illuminated as a feature in the main lounge bar.

The reputation of The Coopers Arms for the quality of its dining draws custom which is both regular and growing. A major feature is our renowned Carvery with a wide selection of locally sourced, mouth watering meats supplemented by a delicious selection of freshly cooked, seasonal vegetables. An extensive a la carte menu is also available as an alternative dining option. From classic Steaks to our finest fish dishes we are proud to cater for all tastes. We are also now operating a VIP membership card for diners whereby you will be able to save money, receive exclusive offers and receive valuable rewards.

Ours is not a Gastro Pub but a traditional pub/restaurant environment offering only the finest fayre, freshly prepared and cooked. Dining customers who like the buzz of the pub can be accommodated in all areas of the lounge bars, while those seeking a more secluded restaurant setting can choose from a further three dining areas, two of which boast stunning, panoramic views over the five acre coarse fishing lake whilst the third room, Charles 1st, adopts a cosier and more traditional atmosphere.

Leading into our Cromwell Banqueting Suite you will find an arched door way with grooves in the sandstone where Cromwells troops sharpened their swords and daggers in readiness for battle. The suite offers 4 interconnecting roomed areas with a private bar which boast original wood paneled walls, three more open restored fireplaces and an authentic oven.

The Cromwell Suite can cater for both Business and Pleasure, providing an ideal and unique space to accommodate for both Wedding Breakfast for up to 80 guests and evening reception holding a maximum of 175 guests. We are also licensed to hold Civil Ceremonies in The Fairfax room with the beautiful views overlooking the lake.

Additionally the Banqueting suite rooms and both conservatories can be utilized for conferences, training and directors meetings where it is possible to cater for both small and large numbers of delegates.

We look forward to welcoming you to The Coopers Arms.
