The Derbyshire Life Food & Drink Awards are designed to champion, highlight and offer a showcase to the good and the great from the region’s food and drink industry – including local producers and suppliers, chefs, restaurants, pubs and hoteliers, and people who care about the countryside and the future of our local environment.

There can, surely, never have been a better time to be a lover of good food and drink in Derbyshire. We have an astonishing array of talent on show in the county, from hardworking producers to restaurateurs offering diners the ultimate experience, and all points in between.

It is a wonderfully diverse and creative industry and such an exciting one to be involved in. Here at Derbyshire Life we are thrilled to be playing our part in highlighting the best of the best with the launch of our 2018 Derbyshire Life Food & Drink Awards.

There are 12 categories in total, ranging from Independent Retailer of the Year and Tearoom/Café of the Year to Chef of the Year and Restaurant of the Year, and we are asking you, the reader, to help. We need your votes to find out who is the cream of the crop. This is your chance to let us know who you think are the shining stars of Derbyshire’s food and drink industry. Or perhaps you think you deserve some recognition; why not vote for your own food and drink business?

Voting for the 2018 awards goes live on 19th July 2018. We are asking readers to use our online nomination form at foodawards.derbyshirelife.co.uk to vote in as many categories as they wish to.

Once the closing date of 7th September has passed and the votes have been counted and verified, the winners will be notified and arrangements made to present their awards and take photographs for our magazine feature. The winners and highly commended businesses will then be published in a future issue of Derbyshire Life. u
