Judges were looking for someone who has made a lasting contribution to the food and drink industry, someone who goes that extra mile to make a difference and is proud to fly the Derbyshire flag.

Sponsored by Cosmo

Winner: John Jaquest

The judges have described our winner as an ‘expert, an unassuming leader in his profession who never rested on his laurels and a champion of all things Derbyshire’. He is more than deserving of this accolade for his life’s work, and though now retired, for services to the local food industry.

The shortlisters were:

Andre Birkett – Chatsworth Farm Shop

Robert Evans – Peak Ales

Kieron Atkinson – English Wine Project

James Pogson – Northern Tea Merchants

The Angler’s Rest, Bamford

Max Fischer, Baslow Hall
