The category showcases the high quality and wonderful diversity of producers and growers in Derbyshire. The judges were looking for a business that strives to offer its customers a high quality product and works tirelessly to ensure the success of their business.

Winner: The Buxton Pudding Company

Of the winner, the judges said: ‘The talented and passionate people behind this business took the brave decision to start a new venture, which is one of a kind. Their dedication and enthusiasm is something to be truly admired and they have revived historic recipes to create delicious products which can be enjoyed today.’

The shortlisted businesses were:

• Brock and Morten, Ashford-in-the-Water – cold-pressed rapeseed oil produced in the Peak District .

• Bluebells Dairy, Spondon – real dairy ice cream made with milk from their own herd.

• Peak District Dairy, Buxton – producers of dairy products including farmhouse yoghurts and real dairy ice cream.
