Come and join us…

Arthur’s is named after Holly’s Great Grandfather who used to live and work in Bakewell and many years later we have returned! Arthur was born in Bristol in 1896, the eldest of five children.

He moved to Bakewell as a young boy where his father ran the local grocery shop. The family lived above Ivy House, just past the church where Arthur was a choir boy.

Prior to the Great War Arthur worked in the Cotton Mills. Upon being called up he joined the millions of other young men who suffered the horrors of trench warfare. He lost his brother Jack, in Flanders and subsequently named his first born son (Holly’s Grandfather) after him. We think Arthur would love our restaurant!

Being a small, independent, family run business it is really important for us to give amazing customer service and a warm, friendly experience. Everybody is welcome in Arthur’s, we even welcome dogs in our bar area until 5pm!

Arthur’s offers a contemporary drinking and dining experience, providing locally sourced food and drinks served with simple style and fresh flavours.

Find us on Bridge Street where Holly and David look forward to welcoming you. Whether it’s for a quick drink and some tasty nibbles or to sample one of their fabulous cocktails. Why not test our menu with one of our light bites or go full out with a 3-course dinner? Whatever you choose, we guarantee a warm welcome, personal service and great quality food and drinks.

Relax and have a chat at the bar or settle down for an evening with friends and a sharing board in one of our cosy booths.

Our aim is to use locally sourced produce to provide fresh, flavoursome, food and present it with simple style. In essence, ‘Real Food…done well’. Our fabulous cocktails are second to none with the traditional favourites alongside Holly and Dave’s latest creations…they all look amazing and taste even better!

We have just launched our brand new brunch and lunch menu which has a wide range of choices, from Paninis and hot sandwiches to fresh salads and main meals. Our ‘boozy brunch’ is a new favourite, served until three at the weekend. We are serving our brunch menu with the option of a Bellini or glass of Prosecco included in the price.

At Arthur’s we are able to cater for any events or celebrations that you may require, we have a large dining room and booth area that are perfect for a private party. We are able to produce a beautiful buffet and cater for all occasions and dietary requirements.

Please come and join us at any time and enjoy the experience. We have some great sharing boards which are perfect with a bottle of wine for a leisurely lunch or perhaps a quick midweek supper.

Looking forward to seeing you in Arthur’s!
