Join the world record attempt in aid of the Make It Better fundraising campaign

The Children’s Hospital Charity has joined forces with Peak FM in a bid to break the Guinness World Record for most people bouncing on space hoppers at any one time. The fundraising event is being hosted as part of the Children’s Hospital Charity Make It Better campaign, raising funds to help transform The Children’s Hospital in Sheffield, which treats thousands of children every year from across the region.

To acknowledge the number of Children’s Hospital patients from Derbyshire alone, Peak FM is calling on 3,000 people to join the event taking place at Stand Road Park in Chesterfield at midday on Sunday 28th July 2013. The current record stands at 2,943 people bouncing on space hoppers at any one time. On the day Peak FM’s resident presenters will be leading the bouncing, including the breakfast presenters Sean and Becky, and drive time presenter Richie Pearson.

So, for those of you looking for a fun and worthwhile day out please visit www.peakfm.net for more information and to register. For just £10 each participant will receive their very own space hopper and pump to keep, along with the chance to be part of a breaking a Guinness World Record. Alternatively you can register as a family (4 people) for £30. Terms and conditions apply.

The money raised through the Make it Better campaign will go to providing much needed modernisation of the hospital including a new main entrance and reception, a ground floor outpatients department, en-suite patient bedrooms on three new wards to allow families to stay together and a sensory garden for patients to relax or play.

Charity Director David Vernon-Edwards: ‘We are lucky to have one of only four specialised children’s hospitals in the country on our doorstep and we are therefore calling for the support of the local and regional communities to take part in the Make it Better campaign, helping to raise funds to support the development of this life saving hospital and the pioneering research they conduct.

‘The Bounce It Better event, in conjunction with Peak FM, is an innovative fundraising campaign and we would urge people to come forward to sign up. Together we can Make It Better!’
