Beating Retreat Ceremony at Chatsworth, Derbyshire

The Band of the Prince of Wales's Division conducted the Beating retreat ceremony at Chatsworth on the evening before the first day of the Country Fair.
The Band of the Prince of Wales's Division conducted the Beating of the Retreat ceremony at Chatsworth on the evening before the first day of the Country Fair. The impressive performance, followed by a supper, is kindly hosted by the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire with all proceeds going to the Army Benevolent Fund (ABF), The Soldier's Charity. Director of Music for the evening was Capt S. Riley and as well as the Duke and Duchess, The Lord Lieutenant, Brigadier and Mrs J.E. Richardson and civic dignitaries from across the county attended.
The evening also marked the launch of a fund-raising 'Sweethearts' calendar, organised by Chriisie Rowell and inspired by the original forces'sweethearrts of the 1940's and 50s.
