The Finesse Collection hotel chain hosted the launch of a charity drive at Donington Manor which will see vital funds raised in the coming months for two childrens charities. Finesse teamed up with fund-raising group Charley Mill to help Rainbows Hospice and Childhood Eye Cancer Trust. So far, over 130,000 has been raised. James Blick, Managing Director of Finesse Hotels, announced two major fund-raising events: the Charley Mill Charity Shoot, a June weekend of two shooting packages set in Charnwood Forest; and an 007 Bond Ball in the exclusive Louella Stud in Markfield, Leicestershire with guest appearances by snooker legend Willie Thorne and BBC TVs Flog It! auctioneer Charlie Ross who will preside over a giant auction.
Rainbows family liaison officer Julie Kuzniar spoke of how the hospice meets the needs of the regions children and young people who are afflicted by life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. Libby Halford, chief executive of Childhood Eye Cancer Trust, then detailed the help they offer to children and families affected by retinoblastoma, an eye cancer which occurs predominantly in the under fives.
