Derbyshire Community Foundation hosted The Mirror Ball, at the Grade II listed Roundhouse in Derby, to raise funds for its Derbyshire Matchmaker Campaign. Over 250 guests enjoyed a champagne reception, sumptuous meal, entertainment from The Kommitments and a fabulous fundraising auction.
A local Derbyshire-based endowment charity, Derbyshire Community Foundation provides vital grant funding to voluntary and community groups across the county, including those involved in supporting carers, survivors of domestic abuse, children, young people and isolated elderly residents. The Foundations grants also provide the people of Derbyshire with access to music, sport, advice, transport, childcare, counselling and a host of other services.
The event raised over 19,000 and every pound raised has been matched with a 1 from the government, under the Derbyshire Matchmaker Campaign, resulting in a 38,000 increase in the Foundations endowment fund. Pledges and donations are still coming in and the Foundation thanks the Balls supporters and guests and the many local businesses that donated auction lots, raffle prizes and gift bags.
