Glitz and Glamour were the order of the day at a fund-raising ball for the Hereditary Breast Cancer Helpline at Chatsworth. The event raised a total of 11,100 to support the work of the self-funding charity. Guest singer Tony Christie performed his hit single Amarillo to an appreciative crowd and the Hollywood theme also provided an opportunity to thank some of the helplines supporters Professors Gareth Evans and Ros Eeles, Andrew Baildam and Lester Barr. The evenings local sponsors included Adrian Fewing of Derbyshire Aggregates, Printability 2000 and VK. Beginning with a paparazzi-style entrance, the evening concluded with a spectacular fireworks display.
