When Cactus Images, Baseline Creative and boast sponsorship realised they were moving into Friar Gate Studios on Ford Street in Derby on the same day, it seemed a good idea to hold an office warming. Cactus Images was formerly based round the corner in Banks Mill. Formed by Chris Howard and Angela Jenkins in 2008, it specialises in food and product photography. Baseline Creative, established by Craig Barker, specialises in branding, graphic design and web design, while boast sponsorship aims to bring sponsors and sponsorship opportunities together. The company was launched last year by James Drew and Henry"Guyler and is currently representing the Spartan Ocean Racing Team who are competing in the Velux 5 Oceans Race as we go to press Spartans British skipper Chris Stanmore-Major has completed the first solo leg of the race from La Rochelle to Cape Town in fourth place.

Friar Gate Studios was launched in spring 2007 and offers stylish, modern office facilities for businesses in the creative industries."It is also home to Bean caf and to the Tregoning gallery one of the finest contemporary galleries in the Midlands which always has a superlative selection of sculpture and paintings on show.
