The City of Derby Swimming Club Charity Ball

A ball held at Pride Park Stadium recently by the City of Derby Swimming Club was the second stage of a fund-raising effort that totalled £20,000.

A ball held at Pride Park Stadium recently by the City of Derby Swimming Club was the second stage of a fund-raising effort that totalled 20,000 the first being a sponsored swim by club members. Proceeds


were shared between Sport in Action, which seeks through sport to educate and empower people in Zambia to lead better lives, and the Derby Swimming Club. With sights firmly set on future success, the Club will use the money to send swimmers on training camps and improve facilities, including the purchase of underwater video cameras to assist in training. Mansfields Olympic medallist Rebecca Adlington was amongst the VIP swimmers and guests who enjoyed a stylish and entertaining evening. A celebrity raffle included prizes such as dinner with British swimming legend and Strictly Come Dancing star Mark Foster.
